Red-Tailed Hawk Spotted Behind Angel Orensanz

We love seeing red-tailed hawks in and around the Lower East Side. Just so majestic! Most seem to hang out further north in the trees of Tompkins Square Park. But yesterday, a Boogie reader spotted the bird of prey perched on a fire escape behind Angel Orensanz.

Our tipster writes:

Spotted this red tailed hawk this morning behind Angel Orensanz. He sat there at least 40 minutes and seemed to be watching the neighborhood pigeons fly in circles.

Wonder how many feral pigeons this opportunistic red-tail snagged…
