Stalled 180 Ludlow Purchased by BD Hotels

Earlier this morning, EV Grieve noted that the notoriously-stalled Hotel Ludlow at 180 Ludlow Street was much brighter during the nighttime hours.  More lights on every floor.  Curbed followed up and got the scoop on the latest.

After a long and complicated saga, it appears BD Hotels has come out the winner here. The hotel operator, which also controls the Maritime, Chambers, Greenwich, Jane and Bowery hotels, recently forked over $25 million for the unrealized dream.

Expect construction to resume at the 170-room eyesore in due course.

Oh my. Another upscale hotel. Ugh.

On the bright side, this will provide another good, say, 300 posts for you!

Would prefer to not have another posh hotel there…

It was always going to be a posh hotel, but the one thing those guys have going for them is a good classic (albeit trendy) design aesthetic, as opposed to some shiny glass and steel look-at-me I’m new bullshit. I’m just amazed at how many hotels are over here, what the fuck.
