Bowery Diner Three Weeks from Opening
The Bowery Diner; let’s talk about it. Even though the plywood shed was dismantled last month, and the neon sign remains lit, grand opening is still just out of grasp.
Earlier this week, this new Mathieu Palombino establishment at 241 Bowery traded its classy garbage bag window treatments for something a bit more blogger-friendly translucent. The interior looks ready to seat the first crowds, but word on the street says otherwise. We are hearing that the forthcoming 24-hour diner is still roughly three weeks from launch date.
Meanwhile, that fresh slab of gray sidewalk poured at the entrance last month was shamelessly carved to death. The usual mix of lovers, taggers, and vandals with a message all had a go at the drying concrete.
Lesson to the concrete crew – don’t pour sidewalks at night or this will happen.
