Clayton Patterson’s New Neon on Essex

Posted on: January 26th, 2012 by

Clayton Patterson recently added a touch of disco flavor to his punk rock pad on Essex Street. In this instance, the oil mixes with the vinegar, so to speak. No more will the caged window showcase of the Outlaw Art Museum remain dark at night.  The lights are on. Behold, the blue “Clayton” neon!

But in all seriousness, the bright-light addition is not without purpose. Patterson tells us he’s had the sign for years and re-kindling the bulb is an effort to spice up the 161 Essex storefront. The tentative plan in the near future is to display “competing art shows” in the showcase, and also to screen home footage from the late 80s and early 90s in the back room.

Would you patronize the gallery to see the films?
