Famous Album Covers With Dead Band Members Excised
The original cover of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Street Survivors at press featured flames engulfing the entire band. However, after the 1977 plane crash that robbed the group of both its frontman and guitarist, the survivors decided to change the the artwork posthumously. Why bring this up? Well, a relatively new site aims to highlight such death in music (last updated in August).
Although discernibly morbid, the Live! (I See Dead People) Tumblr is at once brilliant. By photoshopping deceased band members from famous album covers, we are reminded that even though our most favorite rock stars have an expiration date, their music will indeed live forever.
