Sorella Temporarily Closed for Renovations
Surviving three years in the cutthroat nightlife game on the Lower East Side is definitely a worthy feat. Sorella at 95 Allen Street is no exception, having just celebrated its anniversary in early December. However, a walk past the storefront this week indicates the restaurant is temporarily closed for unspecified renovations. A computer printout hanging in the door informs customers that Sorella will reopen Friday, January 13.
Oftentimes these types of announcements should be taken with a mountain of salt. It’s fairly common that such sudden closures signal behind-the-scenes problems that eventually bubble over.
