Residents of 122 Ludlow Concerned About Safety of Via Tribunali

Little Seattle on Ludlow Street is certainly no stranger to fire. Just over one year ago, amidst a bitter winter, a seventy-year-old woman turned on the oven for heat inside 124 Ludlow; she burned up with the apartment. The tragedy was enough to briefly sideline progress at Little Seattle on the ground level. But now with Via Tribunali poised to launch imminently, some neighbors living up above are having legitimate fire concerns over its presence.

We received a communique over the weekend about a small fire in the restaurant. Apparently that newfangled wood-burning oven caught fire at around 5 pm Friday. While the FDNY was quick to respond, some neighbors living at 122 Ludlow fear that Via Tribunali actually poses a safety threat to the whole building.

Lets hope there are no more incidents like the one on Friday. The smell of fire was very strong on the first couple of floors and in the garbage room.A number of people are nervous about having to go through another fire like the one we had 13 months ago.
