Wodka Vodka Prostitution Billboard Above the Bowery

Headline-grabbing Wodka Vodka has been in the news quite a bit these last few months for its controversial advertising campaign within city confines. Back in November, the liquor company was blasted for placing an anti-Semitic billboard along the West Side Highway (“Christmas quality, Hanukkah pricing”).

Controversy sells, and the latest ad is ruffling just as many feathers with its play on prostitution (“Escort Quality, Hooker Pricing”). The Hunts Point community in the Bronx opposed its placement in their neighborhood last week, and the billboard was quickly tabled. Like, within a couple days.

However, the very same billboard is still in place at the corner of Bowery and Great Jones Street. Above the Downtown Auto & Tire Center. Keep it classy, Bowery 2.0.
