Roland Emmerich’s New ABC Pilot Filming on the Bowery Today

ABC Television is jumping back into the sci-fi realm with a new untitled project by Roland Emmerich (Stargate, Independence Day).  Currently under the working name “Untitled Roland Emmerich Pilot,” this ambitious drama focuses on an astrophysics grad student in New York named Carter (Max Thieriot) who learns that he is the chosen one to destroy the forces of evil. There isn’t much more on the plot, but Laila Robbins and Martin Landau are both on board.

Production crews will line the Bowery and Chrystie Street (north of Delancey) later today for another round of filming activities. The show filmed down at Catherine and Henry last week. Wonder what type of “evil” is lurking in these environs for Carter to expunge. How about gentrification?
