On June 16, 2010, the burlesque hotspot Slipper Room closed its doors for the last time as a one-story performance venue at 167 Orchard. Two years later, and it’s almost ready to launch.

The vicious grassroots war against Bar Veloce, as well as sister haunts Bar Carrera and Porsena, is noticeably intensifying here on the Lower East Side.

Missed Connections is seemingly where all the cool kids go to find those who made the truest of impressions. Or to track down Good Samaritans who helped a woman after a truck ran over her foot at the corner of Rivington and Ludlow.
