Adam Yauch (“MCA”) of the Beastie Boys Dies

The “three bad brothers you know so well” are grieving.  TMZ is reporting that Adam “MCA” Yauch has lost his battle with cancer.  This earth-shattering news arrives just a few weeks after the Beastie Boys were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.  We are speechless. Shed a tear.

The 47-year-old Yauch was diagnosed with cancer back in 2009, and was “being treated for a cancerous parotid gland and a lymph node.

The Beastie Boys have strong connections to the Lower East Side, including the cover of Paul’s Boutique on Ludlow Street and the early party palace at 59 Chrystie.
