Date Set for 12th Annual Egg Rolls & Egg Creams Festival

Posted on: May 29th, 2012 by

Bust out the Palm Pilots and pocket daily planners, and circle June 10.  On that Sunday, the Eldridge Street Synagogue will again play host to the annual Egg Rolls and Egg Creams Festival. As in the past, the event celebrates the melting pot that is the Lower East Side by featuring the trademark treats and traditional Chinese and Jewish entertainment.

2012 marks the twelfth consecutive year of the cross-cultural block party, with 10,000 attendees expected.

Meanwhile, the Eldridge Street Synagogue is seeking volunteers to help the event run smoothly. There are incentives, too. According to the press release:

Volunteers must attend a mandatory orientation session on Thursday, May 31 from 6-8pm OR Tuesday, June 5 from 6-8pm. Food will be provided. All volunteers will receive two free tickets for museum admission or a 2012 public program and food will be provided on the day of the festival.
