Olek Crochets a Message for Jersey Street
A cryptic clue from Boogie favorite Olek was all it took, and we high-tailed it down to Jersey Street. It was here in this narrow alleway, between Lafayette and Crosby Street, that the Polish-born crochet artist placed her latest exhibit. Four identical strollers affixed to the four street corners. Each yarned creation was chained to the road signs, collectively bearing the message – “Love and stop lights can be cruel.” Amen, sister.

Later this summer, Olek’s unique artwork will be featured at the Smithsonian museum in Washington, D.C. as part of their 40 Under 40: Craft Futures exhibit. It’ll run from July 20 through February 3.
