Oscilloscope Laboratories Pays Tribute to MCA on Canal Street
The tributes to MCA around New York City are coming fast and furious. Makeshift memorials to the Beastie Boy are seen everywhere from 171 Avenue A (studio where Polywog Stew recorded) to 99 Rivington (Paul’s Boutique), and even a jumbotron shout at Madison Square Garden. Time to add 511 Canal Street to the growing list.
Reader LR sent in the following photos. 511 Canal is the home of Oscilloscope Laboratories, Adam Yauch’s independent film distribution company that was responsible for Howl and Exit Through the Gift Shop, among others. Earlier this week the windows of the Tribeca headquarters were papered with a perfect tribute. Handwritten pages in the upper panes spell out “Gratitude” and “RIP MCA.”
And just across the street, another ME poster – “Cause you can’t, you won’t, and you don’t stop.”
