Swan Tile and Cabinet Closing 94 Allen Showroom

Local mini-chain Swan Tile and Cabinet, which specializes in providing “kitchen and bath solutions,” is losing its flagship Lower East Side showroom. Located in a through-block space at 94 Allen Street (aka 95 Orchard), this outpost held down some valuable neighborhood real estate for many years. Computer printouts pasted in the windows advertise the obligatory fire sale.

With ground level frontage on the block housing the Tenement Museum, it shouldn’t be long before a replacement arrives. Our money is on either a boutique or bar. Something that caters to tourists.  A reliable hardware store would be nice, though.
