Healthy Drive Bodega on Orchard Closing

As one giant bodega infiltrates Orchard Street, another folds in its wake.

The recent nighttime closure of the Healthy Drive bodega was seemingly the first sign of the demise. Roll-down gates shuttered during the early evening hours. Our suspicions were confirmed earlier this week with the arrival of a handwritten note in the window of 138 Orchard Street. Closing for good.

Even though Healthy Drive was a rinky-dink hole without much inventory, it still offered the cheapest gallons of milk outside Boogie favorite Shop Smart on Ludlow. And was a go-to spot for Schweddy Balls ice cream and illegal Four Loko.
