Olek Partners with Samsung in New Galaxy Note Commercial

Olek has certainly gained a steady following while gallivanting around the world to bring the art of crocheting to the street. From New York City to London, Barcelona, Venice, and beyond, the Polish-born yarn-bomber leaves behind a colorful trail of yarn.

Her prolific escapades and breadth of work eventually led to a high-profile position in the Smithsonian’s 40 Under 40 exhibit, slated to kick off July 20. All the increased exposure also resulted in a corporate sponsorship of sorts.

In a shill to allegedly help offset a mountain of legal fees stemming from an unspecified incident late last year, Olek recently became the latest spokesperson for Samsung. Indeed, the UK commercial is another in the series for the electronics behemoth, which is plugging its new Galaxy Note. To be fair, though, this extended two-and-a-half-minute advert is as much a promotion of Olek as it is for the multinational. And the opening line says it all – “I’m a very spontaneous person…and that gets me in trouble.”
