Hanksy Helps Us Celebrate 4 Years!
The Lower East Side is known for its street art and at Bowery Boogie we cover lots of it and the businesses who commission them. Sometimes it’s done to hide construction plywood, sometimes it’s done for the love of art. We fall into the art lover group, so we decided to commission some of our own.
The elusive mash-up master Hanksy agreed to help celebrate our fourth anniversary on the interwebs by painting the background of the site. Check out the walls – it’s a “Totem Paul.”
Hanksy included the following Pauls, from top to bottom:
Pope John Paul II
Paul Simon (holding two little Garfunkel fish)
Paul Newman holding a little Paul Newman
Giamatti (holding a little tiny Giamatti)
