Old Navy Billboard on East Houston is Alive

It’s ALIVE…it’s ALIIIVE.
The ambitious new Old Navy billboard straddling the short width of East Houston between Lafayette and Mulberry was finally plugged in last week. Like Vegas. Those carney bulbs are now alight, with the attached rectangular screen spewing marketing copy (“Hey NYC, your awesome is showing”). And meanwhile, workers in cherry pickers continue fiddling with the advertecture.

Looks like this one will be here for awhile. Unless it breaks down first. Either way, neighbors might not be too happy about the latest advertising here, which undoubtedly harkens back to the days of the blinding PSP billboard pre-2009.
