The Typo Terrorist Tags Nike’s Rivington Court

There’s a new vandal in town, and this tagger wants you to recognize.  Within the last week, the Typo Terrorist has already started spreading knowledge on the streets of the Lower East Side.

According to the Tumblr page, the self-proclaimed Typo Terrorist moved from Los Angeles for “a few months to terrorize” and “go even bigger.” Since then stickers began appearing in all the requisite places, including a slap on the facade of the recently-reopened New Roma Pizza.  But the Typo Terrorist really wanted to grab the attention of the neighborhood, and decided to bomb the black vinyl siding of the Rivington Court – “I’ll stop tagging when all is right in the world.”

Boo. He better have something wittier to say than that, if he wants to make it in NY. Spit.

I just checked this kid’s instagram. Totally uninspired, uncreative work. one of his tags said “one day, we will all look back and be ashamed that gay marriage was even an issue.” Another was “We outnumber them 99 to 1.” Wow dude, you are so insightful. Go back to LA

This douche is to tagging what Synyster Ink is to tattooing.

I totally understand that this guy is trying to get a message across but I don’t think tagging is the way to do it. Especially via tagging on private property. People work hard to get the LES clean and tag-free. For the past few weeks I finally felt proud in living in a clean neighborhood until I saw the tag on the Rivington Court yesterday. It’s just tiring having to see people trash their own neighborhood or even other people’s neighborhoods. All in all “the Typo Terrorist’s” message “I’ll stop tagging when all is right in the world” seems hypocritical. If you want the world to be better, make it better. You’re improving anything by tagging; in fact you’re just making it harder for people to have to clean the graffiti up.
