Blackbird Opening on Avenue B with Three-Night Binge

Looks like the former Lakeside Lounge folks (plus, Niagra bartender) need not appear before Community Board 3 this month, after all. Blackbird, the new namesake for the Avenue B watering hole, is apparently ready to fly. According to the State Liquor Authority website, the on-premise license is now active.
What’s more, Blackbird is opening sooner than expected, and will be celebrating with a three-night inauguration extravaganza. We received the following invite in the Boogie mail bag:
At long last, our delightfully mysterious little bar is opening this Thursday, August 9th! We shall be celebrating and squawking for three days straight (Thursday, August 9th, Friday, August 10th, and Saturday, August 11th). Please join us for riveting deejays, nightly open bar from 9-10 p.m, and simply the most charming people you will ever see in one room together ever again. Until next week…
Lakeside is dead. Long live Lakeside.
