DAL Paints Lion of a Mural on Rag & Bone

Rag & Bone dispensed with the colorful yet bland branding in favor of something carrying a bit more street cred. Ironic, considering much of the graffiti scene can probably barely afford those threads.

We digress. Yesterday afternoon, street artist DAL was spray-painting his lifelike vision onto the Elizabeth Street facade. Long a step-sibling of the graffiti wall across the street, this wall finally received due and proper. Crowds gathered, Lady Aiko hung around for a bit, and Martha Cooper was there to document.

DAL’s two-toned barbed-wire-esque coils twist and overlap to form the outline of a lion and its cub. Can’t see it? Take a step back from the screen. There you go.

Meanwhile, having Lady Aiko around presented the perfect opportunity for a photo op in front of her Bowery mural. That’s Martha Cooper shooting in the median.

Street art aficionado Josh Geyer was instrumental in making this happen.
