Filming Today: “Smash” in Little Italy, Maybelline on Orchard Street

Earlier this spring, NBC renewed its Glee-like musical-based series, Smash, for a second season. Here we are at the end of summer, and production is commencing in and around downtown. Those familiar “no parking” signs have already cordoned off a swath of Little Italy and the northern Bowery for filming activities later today.

Meanwhile, Orchard Street will simultaneously play host to a Maybelline commercial.
