Jumper in East Broadway Subway Station Last Night

A man leapt in front of a Brooklyn-bound F train yesterday evening as it approached the East Broadway subway station. The victim was rushed to Bellevue Hospital in conscious, but unknown condition.

4th Battalion Chief Keith Anderson told Gothamist that the jumper “looked up at the conductor and jumped in front of the train.” It wasn’t pretty – at least four trains cars reportedly ran over him.

The incident transpired at roughly 8:30 pm and closed the entire East Broadway station for about an hour. Trains were routed through to Delancey Street.
