Nick Walker Stencils Hendershot Gallery on Chrystie

Earlier this week, Nick Walker completed his second stencil in as many months here on the Lower East Side. As part of its “(Re)Print” exhibit, the Hendershot Gallery commissioned the Bristol-based artist to sheath the side door with his token bowler-hat chap. The showroom decided to head outside the 195 Chrystie premises for this final chapter of the installation, which ultimately concludes on August 15.

Walker’s new artwork joins the “I Love NY” dude that graces the Ludlow Street facade of neighborhood bane, The DL. It portrays a dapper dude pulling a spray-can from inside his coat. As if it were a weapon.

Let’s see if this one attracts the same amount of vandalism…
