That Hooker is Actually Part of “Live In” Street Theater

Don’t be duped by the hooker strolling the Orchard Street pedestrian mall on Sunday afternoons. Or the group of gawkers surrounding her. Dressed impeccably and rather convincing in her portrayal of a coked-up street walker (bloody nose, shiner, etc.), this is nothing more than a taste of Lower East Side theater. The Live In Theater, that is.

The Live In Theater creates interactive murder mystery tours around the neighborhood that engage participants to try and solve. This hussy character is actually part of the Lombardi Case, which meets at the Living Room on Ludlow.

It’s also worth noting that our own resident historian Allison Siegel collaborated to create this look, from ‘fro wig to jeans cutoffs. She is also on board as historical consultant for the upcoming performance based on notorious Jewish gangster Abe Relis (Murder Inc.).
