Hummus Shop Opens at 101 Ludlow

The second of two likeminded fast food Mediterranean “shops” just opened on the Lower East Side. Labor Day weekend saw the arrival of the Falafel Shop at 127 Rivington Street, and this past weekend, the Hummus Shop finally opened at 101 Ludlow.

It’s been a long haul for the Hummus Shop, which was initially intended to open here at the Ludlow Residence in summer of 2011. One year, a mezzanine, and new awning later, the “100% natural” eatery is ready to serve the drunken hordes. Pretty much the entire menu is vegetarian/vegan friendly, at bottom dollar price points. Nothing on the menu exceeds $10, and it’s everything you might expect. Snapshot below:

Shay Zvibak, the owner behind Cuban-Italian eatery Candela Candela on Second Avenue, reportedly runs the operation.

just visited this place, I like it and the people working are very nice, I just think they just need to improve their menu, I went 2 days in a row and the same plate was inconsistent and prepared different both time.
