McKenzie Fine Art Moving from Chelsea to 55 Orchard Street

Chelsea’s hemorrhaging gallery scene has been the topic of conversation for years already. Yet the talk seems much louder these last few months. Lots of west side showrooms are relocating to the Lower East Side for its relatively cheap rents. This week, we bring word of another veteran coming ashore at 55 Orchard Street.
McKenzie Fine Art spent ten years of its life on West 25th Street and began renovating its new downtown home earlier this summer. Typical. After the Euromoda haberdashers closed last January, a gallery seemed the inevitable replacement option for the space. After all, this is lower Orchard, right?
No word yet on the inaugural exhibition here. However, a Facebook update reveals that the interior build-out was completed over the summer.
