Stenciled Advert on the Bowery of Limited Edition Varvatos Chrysler

Posted on: September 12th, 2012 by

The Motor City parked itself at the doorstep of CBGB John Varvatos yesterday with some serious 3D sidewalk stenciling. This pasted Chrysler 300C muscle car, commissioned by the well-heeled boutique, is navigating a Marble Madness-esque stretch of concrete with city lights (and guitars) below. And what’s it for? Well, it’s actually a plug for the “limited edition” 2013 model inspired by Varvatos threads.

According to Newsday:

The Varvatos 300c features 20-inch wheels in a carbon satin finish, seats and door trim lined with black woven leather, hand-wrapped leather on the instrument panel, console lid, and door arm rest, and a two-tone steering wheel with accent 360 ring. A Beats by Dr. Dre stereo system is also included.

The artist behind this brain teaser of an advertisement is Tracy Lee Stum. Undoubtedly a viral image, it’s the stuff of modern email chain and Facebook spam legend. Many pedestrians were seen shooting pictures of the art throughout the day.
