Man Shot Dead at Jose Barber Shop on Forsyth Street

More information has come to light regarding the shooting last night at the corner of Broome and Forsyth Streets. An argument inside the Jose barber shop resulted in the death of a father of three. One reader who lives nearby gathered the following from officials on the scene. It may have been gang related.

According to the police, at 9:30PM Saturday night a Dominican youth shot another in the Jose Barber shop [at 110 Forsyth]. The young man put himself in a taxi to Bellevue but had died before he got there.

The police were waiting to take fingerprints at 305 Broome. Surveillance camera from Happy Endings saw the gunman enter the building.

On a more personal note, a friend of the victim offered up the following:

The man who was killed is a very dear friend to many , he was a good person, he was loved by all. He was a man you could look to when in need. He did not deserve this! He left behind three children and a loving wife.

Just the day before the group of hood rats came prowling and beat up a young man cracked his head open with a bottle. we told the police “check the cameras, they were standing on the corner by the store , or check the phone that was stolen it has a tracker, find the guy before he does something, they did say they would be back!”

The cops did not check the phone nor the cameras! if they would have its possible our dear loving friend would still be here today! hundreds of people are mourning, this is a nightmare.

TO THE KILLER!! THEY WILL FIND YOU!!!

    not sure if this is related- as reported to me- on thrusday evening, on the Bowery around Prince, a small group of youths chased down and badly beat another youth. I get reports that it is not unusual to hear guns fired around Campos Plaza. My guess is that crime is much higher than Bloomberg and Kelly are telling us.

      Of course crime is higher than what Bloomberg reports! This summer I had a guy lurking outside my window before darting up the fire escape into the apartment upstairs. I asked them to file a report and they wouldn’t. Two weeks ago a friend of mine was assaulted in the subway at 14th Street and the cops did NOT want to file a report. It was only after my friend, the EMTs, and the MTA booth agent INSISTED that they wrote a report. I doubt my friend and I are in the minority here.

    I read on facebook– last night a person was badly beaten on Ludlow between Houston and Stanton- smashed nose, possibly loss of teeth, and buckets of blood was spilled.

    The victim, Charlie Fernandez , a loving dear person who cared for all family and friends was brutally shot and murdered. Charlie was a good person, never looked for problems and always helped people.He loved his kids, the were his life. Charlie , leaving behind 3 kids, a wife, siblings, mother, father , relatives and many friends will always love and remember him for the bright, smart, energetic person he always was. May you rest in peace. You are gone but not forgotten!!!

      he might have been all that but on this night he went to the barbeshop looking for problems and found them. his brothers words ” we got word that he was in the barbershop and we went to get him” (nypost) that tells me that cha is nothing but a bully.

    As I read everyone’s postings it is
    difficult not to notice the word “was” in every post. Charlie was
    this and Charlie was that; let’s not forget Charlie will never die. For we will
    ensure his unconditional love, his caring and courtesy, will live on. Saturday,
    we lost a dear friend. Sunday he was born again. With sadness I must say;
    Charlie is an example that living on earth is hell and leaving this earth is
    heaven. The Hernandez family that was left behind must now pay the price of
    this void. Some say; gone but not forgotten, I say; never gone, and never forgotten!
