Miller’s Near & Far Begins Construction at 65 Rivington

Construction just commenced in a big way at 65 Rivington Street after seasons of silence. DOB permits were filed last week to transform the storefront into a new watering hole called Miller’s Near & Far. Meanwhile, what still remains of Kuta Satay Lounge – brown awnings and faded menu boxes – languishes amidst the interior renovation.

Near & Far is the work of Christopher Miller, known in downtown nightlife circles for the Tribeca sports bar Warren 77 (Sean Avery’s joint). Community Board 3 signaled its approval for on-premise privileges last April. Four months later, the application was submitted and is still pending with the State Liquor Authority.
