Sunday morning at roughly 11:20 am, the badass owner of budget depot Richies fought off a thug who tried to nab $50,000 in cash and credit card receipts. 74-year-old Joseph Mizrahi from Gravesend, Brooklyn, came to collect the weekly earnings from his 122 Delancey Street store and was jumped by a “tall stranger.”

The 25-year-old mugger allegedly put Mizrahi in a choke-hold, grabbed two heaping bags of cash, and pushed him down. According to the Post blotter, the store owner fought back by chasing the thief and snatching one sack, spilling money across the floor. The perp gathered what he could and fled the scene.

Mizrahi suffered minor knee and elbow injuries from the incident.
