Simchat Torah Celebrations on Delancey

Sundown yesterday ushered in the Jewish holiday of Simchat Torah (“rejoicing with the Torah”), celebrating the conclusion of the yearly cycle of biblical readings. What you see here was the scene at the mouth of the Williamsburg Bridge in the hour before sunset. Dozens of Orthodox Jews streaming from the span, ambling westward on Delancey Street for services. But not before crossing at Clinton and nearly getting run down in the process…or breaking into song and dance.

On the way, one dude distributed business cards for the Yeshiva to pretty much everyone on the street.
