Yo! Bus Website Strips Down

It was an eleventh-hour salvation. The Department of Transportation, acting at the behest of local politicians, ultimately decided against shoving a Yo! Bus stop down our collective throats. On September 25 at noon, three hours before the first scheduled pickup in Seward Park, the Greyhound-Peter Pan joint venture was told to find a new location. Score one for the neighborhood. At least for the moment. And now their official website has gone silent.

Where there was once a hub of info, there now only sits a simple parking page, threatening “coming soon.” No other information is available at this time.
Meanwhile, one reader brings two valid questions:
Why did the local community have to go through so much torment convincing other NYC officials and elected officials that a curb side bus service should not destroy our gentle little park and neighborhood? Why did we have to fight so hard just for survival of this special place?
