Beatrice Inn Vet Matt Abramcyk Eyeing 269 East Houston

One Tribeca restaurant and nightlife vet is headed to the corridor of East Houston deemed by mainstream press as the next Meatpacking. Indeed, Matt Abramcyk is coming to the Lower East Side.
After opening a bevy of watering holes crosstown in Tribeca – Super Linda, Tiny’s, Warren 77, South & Mills, et al – it seems the proverbial well is drying up over there. Application documents filed with Community Board 3 reveal that Matt Abramcyk has eyes for 269 East Houston, formerly the four-year home of rock dive Local 269. Proposal is for another establishment of similar format – two-level bar hosting live music – with full liquor license and 4 am closing times every night. However, it appears the basement would be used more for private events and such.
Abramcyk and business partner Franco Vlasek will fight for their right (to party) come next Monday.
