Break-In at Beauty & Essex Wednesday Night

When running a pawn shop in any city, crime pretty much comes with the territory. Lower East Side hotspot Beauty & Essex discovered that first-hand Wednesday evening, when an assailant reportedly broke into the forward store. High-level NYPD brass was in the vicinity for most of yesterday, including the CSI van, for proper investigation.

Mr. White sends along the following photos showing the carnage. As you can see, plywood obstructed much of the window damage, and police are conducting an investigation. We called for comment but were quickly rebuffed by the Beauty & Essex operator. Drop us a line if you have more info.
