NBC’s “Deception” Filming on Rivington Today

NBC’s midseason mystery soap, Deception, is headed to the Lower East Side today to shoot some scenes. The usual “no parking” signs were spotted near the corner of Essex and Rivington Streets. And the location makes sense.
Last march, film scouts canvassed the area with flyers seeking the “perfect apartment” for a show called Notorious. Well, this particular program had a rather elongated identity crisis, and recently changed its name for the second time. First it was Infamous, then Notorious; now Deadline reports that Deception is indeed the final title.
Written by Liz Heldens, Notorious is described as an opulent soap in which detective Joanna Locasto returns undercover to the wealthy and troubled Lawson family she grew up in — as the housekeeper’s daughter — to solve the murder of celebutante Vivian Lawson, who was once her closest friend.
