Relief Efforts for Seward Park Seniors Underway

Posted on: November 1st, 2012 by

We’ve just been updated that the initiative that we helped organize yesterday is currently in progress.

This morning at 10:30am, we gathered with organizer, Evan, and a group of roughly a dozen volunteers. The mission: check on the elderly and homebound residents of the Seward Park co-ops at 387 Grand Street.

Volunteers came equipped with flashlights, Sharpies, and Post-Its. As they are going door-to-door, they take notes about what the resident needs, leaves a post-it on the door and aid is brought.

Simultaneously, there is a base of operations at the former Grand Spa space at 403 Grand Street that is distributing food and water that is bringing transported to those in need at the co-op.
