180 Orchard Construction Now Full Swing

A Boogie reader writes to us today with further confirmation that construction activities have resumed at 180 Orchard Street(aka Orchard Hell Building). As this rooftop image from the Ludlow backside illustrates, new perimeter fencing is now clearly visible. Say goodbye to that open sky space.

The long stalled construction site on Orchard Street between Houston & Stanton seems to be reactivating. We’ve been woken up by workers installing new construction fence around the top the past few days and can be seen measuring everywhere. There’s also a bunch of ropes lying around. In total there’s probably around 10 people on site currently.

…Certainly the jackhammers aren’t inspiring confidence.

The mid-block parcel will soon sprout an 24-story Hotel Indigo, a project that’s already six years in the making.
