In true Christmas spirit, Jimmy Fallon has become the cell phone samaritan.

An unidentified commuter left behind an iPhone 5 in a city taxi Saturday afternoon, and the Late Night host found it. Fallon announced as much in a tweet to his 7.2 million followers.

If you lost this iphone 5 in a cab in Manhattan yesterday, I have it!! Call your phone. I can’t wait to get it back to you.

Based on the photo shared, this could go one of two ways: there is a beautiful woman missing her cell phone or the phone dropped out of the trenchcoat of a creeper with a picture of a beautiful woman set as his/her wallpaper. Either way, calling Jimmy Fallon to retrieve your phone sure beats calling the TLC lost and found.

If this happens to be your phone, or you know the person, first give Jimmy a call and then let us know the rest of the story. Good looking out, Fallon!

This kiosk takes the torch from the OG location a few blocks westward, which closed last summer due […]

Work Resumes in Basement of Embattled 210 Bowery

Work has resumed at 210 Bowery, where a collapsed cellar wall last month destabilized the entire building, prompting emergency action by the city. Well, at least a slight resumption. It appears the Department of Buildings partially rescinded the full stop-work order that was in place since August 4. According to the paperwork, contractors are only […]

Kitty’s Canteen Nabs Adjacent Space for Takeout Counter

Over at the old Pizza Junkie/Douma Pizza on Stanton Street, a replacement is finally identified. The first clue appeared a couple months ago in the form of an intriguing, pirate-inspired black flag with cartoon cat. Then last week, the metal canopy housing was pried and trashed. Let’s just say that the cat graphic is apt. […]

Strung-Up Mutant Rats Likely an Attempt to Call Attention to NYCHA Infestation

Monday morning, we posted a rather gruesome image of three rat carcasses strung from scaffolding outside the Baruch Houses. In fact, these were some of the biggest rats we’ve ever seen. The violent display, while gagworthy, was seemingly out of nowhere, and without context. A mystery on the FDR. Until now. The rat adornment was apparently […]
