LPC Calendars Bialystoker Nursing Home and Seward Park Library Calendared

Bright and early yesterday morning, the Landmarks Preservation Commission voted to “calendar” applications for both the Bialystoker Nursing Home and the Seward Park Library. Our finger in the wind, signs seem to indicate both buildings could emerge victorious. Indeed, word broke earlier this week that the Bialystoker board had changed its tune, and now no longer opposes the designation.

During the same hearing, commissioners also approved the Certificate of Appropriateness for rooftop modifications to the Jarmulowsky Bank Building at 54 Canal Street. With the green light, Ron Castelleno and company will likely begin cosmetic work in the near future.
