Man Shot Near Rutgers Street Subway Entrance

A couple hours ago, shortly after 3pm, a man was shot in the back near the intersection of Rutgers and Madison Streets. The incident transpired just outside the entrance to the F subway station.

According to ABC News, the MTA received a report that an armed man was on a train at that station, but searches turned up nada; the assailant remains at large.

The victim was reportedly whisked to New York Downtown Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
