Orchard House Closes for “Emergency Electrical Repairs”

Uh oh for the Orchard House. The year-old bar-restaurant at 146 Orchard is now closed for so-called “electrical repairs.” While not quite as ambiguous as the ubiquitous “renovation” printouts, the message should definitely be second-guessed. To their credit, though, another message is published on the website, citing “emergency repairs” as culprit. Either way, the broken record keeps playing this same song…

The Orchard House rose from the flames of APL (remember that disaster?) in October 2011 and always has trouble getting people through the door. Past patrons don’t seem too pleased with the joint, awarding it a three-star Yelp ranking. If this closure proves permanent, it wouldn’t be too surprising.
