The 7th Precinct just released video surveillance showing four persons of interest in the shooting death of Raphael Ward on Columbia Street last Friday. The sixteen-year-old was reportedly shot near the corner of Rivington before stumbling into the Tearedhan bodega with a bullet wound to the chest. He died shortly thereafter.

While mainstream media maintains the motive was related to a $600 Marmot jacket, police claim otherwise. We’re also hearing rumors that it might have been a rival group from the nearby Campos Plaza. Guess we’ll need to wait until the four perps are caught…

DNAinfo learns that the wake is tomorrow at Provenzano Lanza Funeral Home in the East Village. Funeral service will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Church on Thursday morning before his burial at Rosehill Cemetery.

Naturally, we honed in on some classic New York footage dated simply to 1970-1979. The clip shown below, “New York (1970-1979),” offers a great snapshot of the neighborhood, from Chinatown through the Lower East Side. Fast-forward […]

Delancey Corner Stands Firm as Restaurant Supply Depot

It’s been a three-year retail drought for 18 Delancey Street. After the Win Win Trading Inc. restaurant supply company relocated to 66 Allen (and the Chrystie Cats with it), the store remained an empty vessle. Its solitude has come to an end, though. It’s more of the same for 18 Delancey. Earlier this year, we began noticing […]

See the Neighborhood Change with Google Street View ‘Time Machine’ Functionality

This is sorta cool. Google Street View, which debuted back in 2007, will soon let users essentially travel back in time. Whereas the map software was previously a static panorama of city streets, certain locations are now animated for time lapse purposes. Whenever you see that little clock symbol in the top left portion of […]

Peter Cooper Statue Boxed Up for Astor Place Reconstruction

You may have noticed that the statue of Peter Cooper sitting comfortably in his eponymous park is currently encased in an enormous plywood box; or that traffic barriers now cordon off a section of the roadway. These noticeable changes pretty much kick off the broader $16 million capital works project to redesign the entire composition […]

Find out who these teens parents are and lock both of them up too..That way you send a strong message out to parents of teens that the community will not tolerate the nonsense killings such as this. Each parent should be charged with child neglect and sentence to a minimum of 15 years each. That should let future parents and other existing parents know to raise your child the right way or face the consequences…
