“The Carrie Diaries” Filming on the Lower East Side Today

Oh, great. Here comes the fuckin’ Sex and the City television prequel to ruin the neighborhood once more. If past is any indication, The Carrie Diaries will ultimately help deliver even more “OMG Girls” and the hordes of B&T to our doorstep. Requisite filming signs went up rather early to cordon the swath of territory northeast of Delancey and Essex Streets.

The Carrie Diaries is the CW show based on Candace Bushnell’s book series of same name. It follows protagonist Carrie Bradshaw during her senior year of high school in the early eighties. Snooze.

Of course, we should mention that the whole idea for the Sex and the City story was based on Bushnell’s column for the Observer, the first of which was written about B Bar on the Bowery.
