Would You Take This Street-Bound Air Conditioner?

On one of the coldest days of winter recently, we trudged through sub-arctic, sci-fi-esque temperatures while walking the dog (who was none too happy about the weather, either) and came upon…this air conditioner on the street.

A funny note taped to the venting read like a dating personal:

• I’m single
• I’m functional
• I’m easy to live with
• Even though I look old, I work like a younger version
• Take me home and use me baby

Just looking at the air conditioner made us feel a bit colder – if that was even possible – and we wondered if anyone would abscond with it. But, by the time we came back from our walk, of course, the thing was already gone.

We applaud the kickass New Yorker who carried it home in the dead of winter. Hope they had insulated gloves.
