We’re in the middle of Chanukah, and Passover is a good four months away, yet that doesn’t stop Streit’s from cranking out tons of matzo. A reader spotted “an epic amount of matzo” sitting on the sidewalk outside the factory yesterday. Well over a dozen skids by our count, and easily the most we’ve seen packed and shipped at one time.

Our tipster notes that the payload was all egg matzo, and that it sat on the sidewalk for the whole morning.

The placement arrives four months after work resumed at the perennial project site. Indeed, the infamous seven-story development has been rotting away before our very […]

Man Badly Beaten on the Bowery Last Night

Just in case you needed additional evidence that the corner of Bowery and Rivington is devolving into violence, this should suffice. Yesterday evening at around 5:45, a man was beaten pretty badly outside the Bowery Mission. When we happened past, EMTs placed the victim in a stretcher and carted him away, leaving behind a stream […]

Shepard Fairey ‘Owns the Future’ at 161 Bowery with New Mural

Shepard Fairey is pretty busy this week on the Bowery, as previously reported. Yesterday was his first day out stenciling after a night priming the brickwork. Thus far […]
