This is in tribute to fallen favorite, Grey’s Papaya.

Getting a two-dollar hot dog with a dollar water on the side is a pretty good deal here in New York City. Down in Nashville, it’s an unavoidable dance song.

“$2 Hot Dog $1 Water” is the next novelty track to invade your brain space. And it comes courtesy of hip-hop unknown Frederick Barr, who runs a “Nightclub Hotdog Cart” in Nashville. The earworm is so over-the-top-zany, you’ll have trouble unhearing it; or unseeing the hilarious music video accompaniment.

The song is stupidly simple. The hook is the phrase “$2 Hot Dog $1 Water” are repeated ad nauseum; verse breakdowns include the condiments people enjoy (“ketchup, mustard, relish, onion”).

This will be everywhere in due course; another “Gangham Style” type track.
