‘CW Pencil Enterprise’ Rebounds with New Orchard Street Store

It’s safe to say that Orchard Street saved CW Pencil Enterprise. The beloved specialty shop was chased from its original location due to fallout from a controversial landlord’s building renovations.

Now, the small business is ready for its second act with new digs at 15 Orchard Street. Expect an opening in “early October.” The news came down the wire earlier this week via Instagram.

CW Pencil Enterprise opened at 100-102 Forsyth Street two years ago and became a formidable hit. However, the ongoing interior remodeling by Veracity Real Estate reportedly created a “serious safety issue with the building” this past summer. Namely, a mold infestation that also took out Birds & Bubbles in the sub-level space.

Owner Caroline Weaver closed the shop at the end of June and relocated the operation to 15 Orchard Street, former home of T-shirt Express (now up the block). And she’s already calling the new landlord the “NYC’s best.”
