Renowned Local Artist Teaching at Historical LES Art School [Sponsor]

Local artist, Feargal Doyle, is the newest instructor at the Educational Alliance Art School at Manny Cantor Center. Doyle, originally from Dublin, now lives and works in New York and his exciting career has included working in architecture, set design and painting instruction around the world. The new class offered by Doyle will focus on Watercolor techniques, a medium not previously offered at the art school.

When asked why he chose to teach this new class in Watercolor, Doyle responded, “I’m probably most comfortable with watercolor, as the water is not completely under my command and this introduces the element of chance as my secret painting partner.”

Doyle’s class will offer special attention to each student to help develop their own style and abilities. Individualized, one-on-one instruction will allow all students to take their skills to the next level.

Doyle said about this personal instructor, “Painting has been a voyage of self-discovery, I absolutely avoid getting conceptual. The paintings are intuitive and evolve themselves. I rarely begin with a concept or subject. Whatever happens, happens! To work this way is liberating.”

Whether you are a new or returning painter, the diversity of practices within our student-favorite Painting courses creates an inspiring venue for students to explore 2-dimentional art in oil, acrylic and watercolor.
